Today, we are going take a look at the ASUS Eee PC 1215B-PU17-BK and decide if it is the right netbook for you or if you should choose another option. Lets start with the cost. This netbook rings in at $ 443.99, and while it may not be a budget model at this price it is a fair cost for the hardware that you are getting. Speaking of the hardware, lets take a look at the specs of the machine.

The processor is an AMD E350 CPU that is backed up with 2GB of DDR3 RAM, through there are some empty slots. So, if you are feeling jaunty and you have the skills to give it an upgrade you can to a max of 4GB if you need to. The screen is a 12.1″ WXGA, with a resolution of 1366×768, which is a high definition picture. So, the media buffs among you should be happy with what you get here. The screen is sported by a ATI HD 6310 graphics card, so your resolution is not put to waste with an inferior processor.

The hard drive is a generously sized 320GB SATA Hard Drive and like all netbooks this system has no optical drive. IT does however sport two USB ports, and a 2-in-1 Card Reader, both of which allow you to expand your memory when you need to, without any stress or fuss.

The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium which will be good news for the majority of netbook users who do not want to hassle to learn a new operating system, or for people who want a high degree of interoperability with their home PC’s. The system boasts 8.5 hours of battery life, which is solid performance for a netbook battery.

On the whole this laptop is a good choice for media buffs, travellers and people who sit in for marathon work sessions. Worth a shot if you want a good all-around netbook.
